Over £30,700 raised by Candles on the Cobb 2025 with applications for funding now open

Following the huge success of Candles on the Cobb, which raised more than £30,700, local groups and organisations are now invited to apply for funding.
Applications should be sent by email to apply@candlesonthecobb.com
including:

the organisation’s name,
its general aims or purpose,
the amount of funding requested, and
a detailed explanation of how the funds will be used.

The closing date is 30th September 2025.
Proceeds from Candles on the Cobb 2025 will be shared as follows: 50% for local good causes, 25% for Prostate Cancer UK, and 25% for Macmillan Cancer Support.

David Sarson, President of the Rotary Club of Lyme Regis, said:
“We are delighted to have raised such a fantastic sum of money, of which 50% will support local good causes. We are very grateful to everyone who purchased a candle, made a donation, and to our brilliant primary sponsors – The Slipway, Lyme Bay Holidays, Rockfish, and Natural and Welsh Candles – along with our partners Love Lyme Regis and Advantage Digital Print, and all the wonderful business supporters listed on the Candles on the Cobb website.

Finally, an enormous thank you goes to our incredible volunteers – from organising the event, manning the kiosk, selling candles, stewarding, and holding collection buckets, to helping with the lighting and clear-up. Without you, this event simply could not take place.”
